Petty Road, Clay County, Missouri....Damage to my wifes car from a large pothole.

My wife hit this pothole on the 4th of July 2007 and completely messed up the rim, the tire and the steering in her car. It was a brand new tire.. The damage is obvious... Notice the pavement is cut where work had already begun but left behind with no warnings, no cones, no signs, etc. The county knew this was an accident waiting to happen. This is the approach to the offending pothole, it is completely blind. This is looking north on Petty road Viewed: 94 times. This is taken from the top of the hill where the pothole is. I am shooting south on Petty rd. Viewed: 63 times. This is facing North getting near the top of the hill, the pothole is hiding just on the other side... Viewed: 63 times. This is facing north, another pothole is forming on the Crown of the hill also as seen in the middle of the road. The big pothole still cannot be seen... Viewed: 70 times. This is what you see as you crest the hill. 10 yards in front of you is the pothole, it is at least 6 feet long and 2 feet wide and at least 6 inches deep. It takes 1/4 to 1/3 of the lane. Viewed: 78 times. These are the cuts in the asphalt where they are beginning the work to replace the broken up road. They (Clay County) knows this road is damaged. There are no warning signs of the upcoming hazards. Viewed: 86 times. facing north on Petty Rd. Viewed: 89 times. chunks of broken asphalt sit in the hole. these present another hazard, being thrown out and causing windsheld or other damage.. Viewed: 60 times. Another hole forming in the southbound lane of the road. Again, there are cuts in the asphalt where a road crew began working on this problem, yet there are no signs and no warnings.
